In a crowded neighborhood of Kayole, Nairobi, 19-year-old David spent his days repairing phones on a wooden crate outside his family’s one-room home. He had learned basic electronics from YouTube videos and borrowed tools from a friend, but with no formal training or capital, his hustle barely earned him enough for a daily meal.

David had big dreams of one day open a fully equipped electronics repair and accessories shop, but the reality was harsh. His mother was a casual laborer, and every shilling went to food and rent. School had ended early for him due to lack of fees.

That changed the day he attended one of our Youth Skills & Business Training Workshops, held at a local community center.

Impressed by his commitment and raw talent, we offered David a place in our Young Entrepreneurs Sponsorship Program. He received hands-on training in electronics repair, business management, customer service, and basic bookkeeping. After completing the training, he was awarded a startup grant to purchase tools, inventory, and signage for a small shop.

Within six months, “David’s Corner” became the go-to place for phone repairs and accessories in the neighborhood. His business didn’t just succeed, it thrived. He started making enough income to support his mother and even enrolled his younger sister in school.

But David didn’t stop there. He volunteered to train two other young men from the community who, like him, had given up hope. With our support, he now hosts free weekend sessions teaching young people the basics of electronics repair and entrepreneurship. His small shop has become a symbol of possibility where skills, support, and second chances meet.

David says, “I just needed one person to believe in me. That belief changed my life.”

  • The mission, vision and statistics should be shown on the main page.
  • I didn’t see the section for news and events, on the line of what we do and the rest.

On mentorship, we will have events whereby if there will be a number of youths that can attend, below that should be a form to apply for the attendees.
